Wyoming Republican Primary Coverage

After standing up to former President Donald Trump in light of the January 6th attack on the capital, Liz Cheney was poised for a difficult reelection. After 6 years of serving in the House of Representatives for Wyoming, her public turn against Donald Trump pitted many of the states republican voters against her. Challenged by Republican Harriet Hageman for her seat, Representative Cheney lost the primary election.

On assignment for The New York Times I photographed multiple campaign events and made portraits of Rep. Cheney leading up to election day. On election day I spent time photographing voting locations in Cheyenne and then covered Harriet Hageman’s election night celebration.
