“A Colorado Ski Area With No Lift Lines?
This One Has No Lifts at All.”

Colorado’s newest ski resort is located in the northern mountains along the continental divide just south of Steamboat Springs. It boasts 4,200+ acres of skiable terrain… and 0 chair lifts.

Bluebird seeks to bridge the gap between the backcountry and resort. With the rise in popularity of backcountry skiing, the ski area has sought out creating a place where skiers and boarders can come enjoy the vibe of backcountry skiing, powering themselves to the top of the mountain, but in terrain that is professionally monitored to mitigate for avalanche hazards.

Along with being a safer option for experienced backcountry skiers, Bluebird prides itself on creating an educational experience for newcomers to the sport. Offering everything from introductory to more advanced AIARE certified avalanche classes, education is the backbone to its concept as a new type of ski area.
